We’re always watching for the most effective ways to drive traffic and conversions…

Today, I want to discuss two critical types of paid traffic: interruption-based and search-based traffic.

Once I started grouping them into buckets, figuring out which would work and when was much easier.

Interruption-based traffic, like the kind you get from Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, is about grabbing your audience’s attention while they are scrolling through their feeds.

You’re essentially interrupting their browsing experience with your ad, hoping to pique their interest and encourage them to click through to your offer.

The key here is to create eye-catching visuals and compelling copy that stands out in a crowded newsfeed.

On the other hand, search-based traffic, like the traffic you get from Google or Bing, is all about meeting your audience’s needs when searching for a solution.

When someone queries a search engine, they’re actively looking for information, products, or services related to their search.

If your ad appears and provides a relevant solution, you’ll likely get a click and a conversion.

So, which type of paid traffic is better for your business?

The truth is that both can be incredibly effective when used strategically.

Interruption-based traffic is excellent for building brand awareness and reaching new audiences…

Search-based traffic is ideal for capturing high-intent leads ready to take action.
