After doing this for as long as I have, you start to realize that there are ‘seasons’ for sales funnel types.

It makes sense. In the early “lockdown,” low-priced digital book front ends were hot.

Then, after people started to feel normal working out of their houses, high-ticket ‘application funnels’ became a thing.

Then events…  Everyone had an event.

And now we’re back to lower-end front-end products, with VSL funnels that power them.

For those newer to the game, a VSL is a “Video Sales Letter.”  They’ve just morphed into sales videos now, but those of us who have been around for a while still call them VSLs.

It’s just a scripted video that has at least one of the following (but all three usually)

  • Powerpoint slides or slide deck
  • Full motion video

Ok – just two things.

B-roll, lower thirds, transitions. We’ll throw that all in at some point.

But then, it’s just a sales video, right?

Now, the video is the first part. The most important part.

The second part is the sequence of pages, emails, texts, and all that other stuff you need to have a complete sales funnel.
